Andy Vella of Parched Art it turns out is responsible for many of the classic early record sleeves for The Cure. Many of which I have been inspired by for a long time for their simplicity and Art-School charm. This one looks to be closely related to the single for Primary (circa 81).

A friend spotted this one the other day while on holiday in Christchurch, NZ

Segal | The Fens

Loving the sounds on this electro album by Segal with it's layers of building swirling synths & fat dancy beats... Was inspired to find out who was behind the title music on the UK TV series Skins and the more recents soundtracks for Skins-Fire, Pure & Rise.

This album works as a whole and never gets boring... it gets stuck in your head and is full of surprising moments that lead into imagined worlds.

"Tell all of your friends"... This is the Stormset mix of the Lily Allen song Sheezus, entered in the Lily Allen remix competition on Soundcloud... the deadline is here!!

It's cool to have the opportunity to remix one of Lily Allen's songs, as it was partly from reading an article about how she worked with producer Greg Kurstin using Logic Pro 9 on her second album 'It's Not You, It's Me, that made me take the plunge and inspired me to learn more about the program... 

Still learning by the way.

What Is That Sound? | Lamb - Heaven Remix Competition

Still searching for my old Lamb concert tickets to upload.... I know I have them somewhere?

Anyway, it's exciting to be working on a remix of the song Heaven as part of another awesome remix competition that UK electronic band Lamb are running. The winning composition will be chosen to be included on the D-side of the upcoming vinyl reissue of their classic album 'What Sound'... one of my favourites.

Remixing a song like 'Heaven' is a real challenge as it somehow needs to be different enough yet maintain the feel and integrity of the original and retain all the elements that make it such a special song...

The wait is finally over... have waited so long to play one of these babies and it sure lives up to expectation with it's unique chime-like bass sound. As someone who loves to play both guitar and bass It's gonna be great fun adding this into live and recorded performances.

Top 101 | Three D Radio

A nice suprise... 'Just Like Fashion' cruised in at number 58 in this year's Three D Radio Top 100+1... Was invited into the new studio for a short live to air interview.
